CBT Psychologist Paris

I am Alice Boudon, a CBT psychologist in Paris and an active member of the French Association for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AFTCC). Within the AFTCC, I have the status of supervising therapist : this status is awarded to members who have undergone in-depth training in CBT, continuously update their knowledge, supervise their practice, and have completed supervisor training.

As a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) and its French-speaking branch (AFSCC), I am listed as an ACT therapist in the directories of both associations.

Psychologist since 2008, I specialized as a CBT psychologist in 2013. I have worked in psychiatric services for children and adults in the Paris region, and have been practicing in private practice in Paris since 2014. On this page, you will find my background as a CBT psychologist.

I am also the author of the French illustrated book Mon psy et moi, published by De Boeck Supérieur. This book is intended for anyone who is hesitant to consult a CBT psychologist (or other type).
Through simple and accessible explanations, I answer the many questions you may have about psychotherapy and psychologists in general :

  • Does seeing a therapist mean you’re crazy ?
  • Can I or should I tell my therapist everything ?
  • Can I ask my therapist to explain how they work ?
  • Can my therapist tell me stories about his life ?
  • Does my therapist engage in self-analysis in her daily life ?

The work of a CBT psychologist : an approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a set of scientifically validated psychotherapies. CBT is based on the principle that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other. The aim is to initiate new behaviors by developing a different relationship with one’s thoughts and emotions, in order to be more flexible and free in one’s choices depending on the context. On this page, you will find clear and accessible information to help you better understand cognitive behavioral therapy.

Who is this type of psychotherapy for ?

I see children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. For children and adolescents, I offer parental guidance based on the principles of behaviorism.

CBT can be used to treat all types of psychological difficulties : relationship issues, communication problems, assertiveness issues, lack of self-confidence, life crises, etc.

CBT is also used to treat all types of mental disorders :

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders (depressive disorders, bipolar disorders)
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Substance use disorders
  • Sleep disorders
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Somatic symptom disorders

Supervision by a CBT psychologist

Supervision allows psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and other helping professionals to reflect on their clinical practice, share their professional experiences, analyze situations encountered with patients, and develop their practical and theoretical skills.

How do the sessions work ?

Whether for a consultation or CBT supervision, sessions take place in person at my office in Paris or via teleconsultation (video). You can find more information under Contact.
